JOB DESCRIPTION: FINANCE OFFICER
This positions handles all financial duties related to The Peel Compton Foundation. The financial officer reports to the executive director and assists with information requests from the board’s financial committee.

CHIEF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make bank deposits
  • Post receipts to Peachtree
  • Add new clients to p/t database
  • Track consignment sales of cabin to be set up later in peachtree
  • Pay bills
  • Reconciliations
  • Payroll
  • Payroll tax payments
  • Payroll tax returns
  • Funding requests
  • Monthly financial reports
  • Organize financials for yearly review
  • Work with appropriate staff and board on budget and reporting

This position is 30-35 hours per week. 100% employer paid health insurance with 25% discount for spouse or family. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.

The Peel Compton Foundation includes two facilities, the Peel Mansion and Compton Gardens and Conference Center. Staff is housed at Compton Gardens, approximately two blocks north of the Bentonville Square and serves as the pedestrian entrance to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Compton Gardens is 6.3 acres of trails that are composed of native Ozark habitat.


Attendant (Paid temporary position)
This position handles the after-hours responsibilities of rentals and special events, both at the Peel Mansion and the Compton Conference Center. We prefer that attendants specialize in one facility. Hours depend on the needs of the client. Attendants are paid $10 an hour, with a two-hour minimum. They are paid directly by the client at the event’s conclusion. You must be able to work odd hours, both early morning and/or weekends. Preference for those with knowledge of audio-visual set-up and flexibility in schedule. Training is provided for both facilities.


Internships (Unpaid with mileage reimbursement)
Both facilities are eager to work with college students who wish to receive either cooperative education credits or direct experience in their chosen field. Internships are available in flexible time slots, both long-term and short-time assignments. The following majors are particularly needed in the following:

  • Horticulture and Landscape Architecture
  • History
  • Communications and Journalism, including public relations and writing
  • Marketing
  • Restaurant and hotel management
  • Business administration
