A trio of grieving widows in black led hushed groups through the Bentonville Cemetery on October 20th, 25th, and 27th, 2011. Walk participants were met by the widows at the cemetery entrance, who tell the stories of those now resting at each historical gravesite – the Berry Family (including the late Governor James Berry), the family of Colonel Samuel Peel, pauper’s corner, the last freed slave in Benton County, concluding at the mausoleum.
The three widows then guided their groups back to the Peel Mansion where they were met by Mrs. Samuel Peel (Mary Emaline) who graciously led guests through her home. No one ever knows what might be seen since Peel Mansion is listed among the 1,000 most haunted places in the United States!

Afterwards dinner was served in the conservatory with its antique black and white tile floor.
The check-in for Ghost Walks will be held in the Bentonville Cemetery just across from the Liberty Independent Baptist Church on F Street. The address is 408 SW F St. (map). Please do not park in the church parking lot itself, but rather along F and 5th streets. Due to a lack of parking at the cemetery we would encourage groups who have arrived in more than one car to meet at Peel Mansion, and carpool from there to the cemetery together.Directions
From Walton Boulevard, turn East on Central Ave (toward the Bentonville Square). Turn right, or South, on F Street and travel approximately 3 blocks to the Bentonville Cemetery.
From I-540 exit at Highway 72 (exit 88) and travel West toward Downtown Bentonville. After traveling through the Bentonville Square proceed approximately 5 blocks to F Street and turn left (South). Continue on F Street approximately 3 blocks to the Bentonville Cemetery.
