Landscape Crew Member - position is available; accepting applications
This position is part of a team to care for the grounds of Compton Gardens and The Old Schoolhouse. This person will work in all types of weather. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: weeding, mulching, mowing, pruning, planting, and watering. Landscape experience is preferred. This is a 40 hour per week, full-time position. Attendant (Paid temporary position) - position is available; accepting applications
This position handles the after-hours responsibilities of rentals and special events, both at The Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens and Compton Gardens and Conference Center. We prefer that attendants specialize in one facility. Hours depend on the needs of the client. Attendants are paid $10-11 an hour, with a two-hour minimum. They are paid twice per month. You must be able to work odd hours, early morning, later evening, and/or weekends. Preference for those with knowledge of audio/visual set-up and flexibility in schedule. Internships - check back in the summer for a fall internship
Both facilities are eager to work with college students who wish to receive either cooperative education credits or direct experience in their chosen field. Internships are available in flexible time slots, both long-term and short-time assignments. The following majors are particularly needed in the following:
- Restaurant and hotel management and/or hospitality
- Business administration
- Horticulture and Landscape Architecture
- Communications and Journalism, including public relations and writing
