Bentonville History Day

Bentonville History Days

An exciting historic adventure is taking place weekly in your home town!

Every Wednesday, one Bentonville area school can take their K- 5 students on an exciting historic adventure in their home town by visiting three local museums: The Walmart Museum, The Museum of Native American History, and The Peel Mansion Museum and Heritage Gardens. At each stop, students will explore unique sights and receive a cool passport sticker to mark their visit! Interest in this program has been overwhelming. Space is available weekly, every Wednesday from 9am-1:45pm on a first-come, first-served basis pending availability at each of the participating museums.

To participate, please complete the registration form below and select a date for your tour. Each school is responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from each museum. One of our staff members will contact you to confirm your tour and to provide additional information.

Please bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks are available in some of the gift shops and are limited. While visiting The Peel Mansion, students may eat their lunches on the front lawn. At the Walmart Museum, students may eat at the downtown square fountain or the Dave Peel Playground. While at the Walmart Museum, your students may also purchase an ice cream from the Spark Café, single scoop is $1.09. Or if you’d prefer to have ice cream during your tour, you may organize by sending an email to At The Museum of Native American History, lunches maybe eaten in the Great Room.

Admission to all the museums are free. Students are welcome to bring money to purchase items in the gift shops. We treasure this opportunity to bring to life a segment of Benton County history as an important connection for our future citizens.
