ReWild the Child

ReWild The Child NWA is a nature-based occupational therapy practice in Bentonville. Our mission is to reconnect kids with nature and peers to enhance overall wellness of kids in our community of Northwest Arkansas.

2021 Programs:

ReWild Summer Camp is led by Pediatric Occupational Therapists from ReWild The Child NWA, LLC, a private practice specializing in nature-based therapy services. ReWild The Child NWA recognized a need in the NWA community for all kids to have increased time in outdoor play experiences. We created Nature Camps for all kids to engage in a safe and positive play experience for outdoor exploration with their peers, creating fun memories and a love for being outside.

  • Activities:
    • Trail Hikes, Nature Education, Nature Crafts, Fort Building, Sensory Play, Mindfulness Games, Therapeutic Drumming, & Food Exploration in the Great Outdoors.
  • Camper Requirements:
    • Must not be flight risk
    • Must be able to follow directions individually and in a group setting
    • Must be verbally independent (no communication devices)
    • Must be able to complete basic self-care activities independently (toileting, feeding, dressing)
  • Who: Kids ages 7-10 years
  • Where: Coler Mountain Bike Preserve
  • When: June 21st-24th, meeting from noon until 3:00each day.

Explore the great outdoors, make nature crafts, mindfulness activities, yoga. This is an opportunity for girls ages 11-14 to learn stress relieving techniques, increase confidence, and make new friends.

Girls Nature Retreat 2021 is led by pediatric occupational therapists.

Kindergarten Readiness & Review is a unique nature sensory camp for kids to explore the outdoors among peers with the guidance of pediatric occupational therapists. The focus of camp will be Fine Motor, Social, and Self-Regulation Skills through play-based activities. Children need not be receiving occupational therapy services to participate in this camp experience.

  • Ages: 4-6 years old
  • When: July 21st-July 24th
  • Camp begins at 9 AM and ends at 12 PM each day.
  • Activities:
    • Nature Hikes
    • Scavenger Hunts
    • Nature Crafts
    • Mindfulness Games
    • Simple snacks provided.

Campers should wear clothes and shoes that can get wet, as there will be activities that involve water and mud! Parents/Caregivers are responsible for applying insect repellent and sunscreen each day before activities begin. Simple snacks provided.

  • Camper Requirements:
    • Campers must be able to follow directions individually and in a group setting.
    • Campers must be independent with basic self-care skills such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.
    • Campers must be verbally independent.
    • Campers must not be a flight risk.
