There are several reasons why camping in the springtime is worth your while. From the newly blooming flowers to the late sunrises and early sunsets, spring is one of the best seasons to vacation outside.

In this post, we’ll help you plan your spring camping trip to Coler, covering the gear and tips you’ll need to stay cozy and have a stress free camping experience!

1. Find THE Spot

The happiest campers always find the best spot for their camping trip. Before you book your site at Coler, make sure to check out our campground map to locate our numbered sites at campatcoler.com. Coler offers access to 16 hike-in sites, 5 camper van sites, and 1 ADA site. Whether you’re looking for a more secluded spot in the woods or a platform closest to the bathrooms, using the map will gaurantee that you find the best site for your stay.

2. Book Your Site

Once you’ve zeroed in on the site you’d like to reserve, book it! One of the benefits of camping at Coler is our “Mix and Match” campsite policy. Is the site you picked only available for one night, though you’d like to stay for three? Not a problem. You can create a perfect multi-day visit by mixing and matching campsites! Email coler@peelcompton.org with your desired dates/campsite size to get additional assitance with your reservation!

*All reservations are non-refundable, non-cancellable, and non-transferrable and the credit card provided will be charged the full amount at the time of booking.

3. Pack the Right Gear

Depending on the site you choose to book, you’ll need to bring specific gear to be fully prepared.

If staying on a platform, be sure to bring anchor pegs and/or parachord to secure your tent properly. Watch this short “How To” video (above) prepared by the Campground staff at Coler to help you fasten your tent efficiently every time!

Another important item to pack in your bags is a solar charger and/or powerbank for your devices (if those sort of things are important for your camping trip). Coler does not offer electric, water, or sewage hook-ups at any of our campsites, so having the option could make your stay more complete.

You’d be a fool if you decided to camp at Coler and NOT bring a hammock to relax in, especially because we have these amazing hammock stands! Watch the video above to learn how to set up your hammock with Coler’s artistic, totally unique hammock stands.

4. Bring Your Bikes

Seriously, if you have a bike, bring that thang! You don’t even have to be a mountain biker to enjoy a bike ride through Coler. From Coler, you can stay on protected bike lanes and paths and extend your ride further. With connectivity to the Razorback Greenway, you can head south all the way to Fayetteville or north up to Bella Vista!

5. No need to pack light

Our bathrooms have been referred to by some as, “the most amazing campground bathrooms on the planet!” With an amenity as amazing as our bathrooms, campers are free to bring their full sized toiletries and enjoy a hot shower.

6. Make the most of your visit

Coler Campground is just a 2.5 mile drive to Downtown Bentonville. That means you can get the best of both worlds in one staycation! Feel free to escape into the woods and hide from society or pack some nice clothes to have a craft cocktail on a Saturday night in a busy lounge nearby!

In addition to great bars and eateries, Bentonville has several must see attractions. Some of our personal favorites include the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Scott Family Amazeum!

Bentonville is also home to Slaughter Pen, 40- plus miles of single-track flow alongside the paved Razorback Greenway and by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
