Camp at Coler

Welcome to the Coler Mountain Bike Preserve Campground

All tent campsites are wooden platforms in the heart of the Preserve. Camping at Coler is dry, primitive camping, with all platforms being hike in and offered year-round. As our campsites are elevated platforms, no tent stakes are needed but we recommend extra cords to secure your tent to our cleat tie downs. Camper van spots are also available to those with camper vans, pull behind trailers are not allowed. Campsites have no water, sewer, electrical hook-ups or Wi-Fi service.

  • $15 small tent platforms. (Approx. 8×8 ft.) – 2 parking spots allowed
  • $25 large tent platforms. (Approx. 9×17 ft.) – 2 parking spots allowed
  • $30 camper van spots (Max. 19 ft. length) – no additional parking spots allowed

  • Only 2 parking spots per camper, no additional parking for camper van spots
  • No additional parking for camper van spots
  • No additional parking for vehicles not registered to your campsite
  • All camping spots are hike-in only. Parking spots are not available at tent platforms, but carts are available to get items from parking to campsite.
  • Parking is limited and there are no motorized vehicles allowed in the campgrounds.
  • Due to limited parking, carpooling is highly recommended
  • Maximum 14-day stay
  • 2-day minimum stay on Friday/Saturday nights
  • Check in is at 3pm and Check out is at 11am
  • There are no electrical outlets at the campsites, you may consider bringing a solar charger, power inverter, or USB power bank.
  • Pull behind camper trailers are not allowed, due to limited space
    • No teardrop, pop-up, travel trailers, or motorhomes allowed
  • Firearms are not allowed
  • No charcoal or wood burning stoves (portable, propane gas grills allowed)
  • Only paid and registered campers are permitted within the campgrounds.
  • The Peel Compton Foundation reserves the right to charge for any damage to the property that may occur during your reservation. A percentage of your booking fee will be assessed in respect to the amount and cost of damages.

We all have the responsibility to be great stewards of the preserve, below are guidelines to follow:

  • Plan Ahead and Prepare
    • Read our policies before you arrive – these can be found on our website and in your email confirmation, please reach out if you have questions.
  • Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
    • Do not park on surfaces outside of the parking lot.
    • Only use established trails and campsites.
  • Dispose of Waste Properly
    • We require each camper to clean up after themselves.
  • Leave What You Find
    • Leave every area of the preserve as you found it – this applies to the natural surroundings and our facilities.
  • Minimize Campfire Impacts
    • Firewood is an amenity provided by Coler, please take only what you need. Do not forage for wood or keep fires going for prolonged periods. Ensure campfires are completely out before leaving them.
  • Respect Wildlife
    • Do not disturb wildlife or plants.
  • Be Considerate of Other Visitors
    • Use quiet voices and be respectful of other campers.
    • Remain at the site that you have reserved.
    • All children under the age of 18 must be to be attended to by a parent/guardian while on site.

Should you need to cancel this agreement for any reason, we thank you for your donation! All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.

The safety of our guests and staff are of primary concern. Should hazardous weather occur, we ask that all campers seek safety and shelter immediately. As soon as the weather is “all clear”, campers will be allowed to return to their sites. However, all payments are NON-REFUNDABLE regardless of reason.

Campsites & Camper van spots are reserved and paid for ONLINE ONLY. All payments are to be made ONLINE ONLY via The Peel Compton Foundation’s website. (www.peelcompton.org). Sorry, no Wi-Fi at Coler, so book before you arrive.

  • Check in is at 3:00 p.m.
  • Check out is at 11:00 a.m.
  • Must be 18 years or older to rent
  • Online payments only and in advance. No cash payments accepted.
  • Dry, primitive camping only (no hook-ups are available)
  • Recommend 2 People for Smaller Sites, 4-6 People for Larger Sites
  • Hammock Stands provided on a first come, first serve basis
  • No individual fires, only community fire pit (no cooking facilities)
  • Quiet hours after 10:00 p.m. and until 6:00 a.m.
  • Must obey all local ordinances
  • Leave no trace
  • No refunds for any reason
  • There are no access fees. The Preserve is free and open to the public daily. Parking is limited and there are no motorized vehicles allowed inside the designated camping area, except for the camper van spots.
