The Peels at Play –

Temporary Exhibit

The Peel Museum and Botanical Garden is a historic museum with period pieces and artifacts dating back to the 1800s. The Peel Museum is considered a remarkable example of the Italianate style that was popular in Arkansas from the 1840s to 1890s. At Peel Museum and Botanical Garden, we’re always researching to uncover more about the Peel House and the Peel Family in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Our Assistant Museum Manager, Lauren Rosenbaum, recently curated a new temporary exhibit titled “The Peels at Play”. This exhibit will be on view at the Peel Museum through the end of February, 2024.

This exhibit showcases several treasured Peel family toys from various generations, ranging from the 1850’s to the 1960’s. These items provide us an idea of the lives of the Peel children that lived in the Peel House from 1875 to 1904. We received these items through the generous donations of the Marquess family and Maurine Peel Towler, who are descendants of Samuel and Mary Emaline Peel.
